When I was growing up, I fell in love with woodworking being in the garage with my dad. I was fascinated by the hand tools and the jigs. After 36 years in the Fire Service, I'm now retired and doing the things I've dreamed of for years.
In 2018 I purchased a sawmill that needed to be totally restored. It's not pretty, but it cuts well. I use it to source hardwoods for custom woodworking projects. I focus on salvaging wood from fallen trees that would otherwise go into burn piles.
Lately I have been working with bourbon and wine barrels and repurposing the wood and steel in a variety of projects. It's extremely satisfying to take something that would otherwise be scrapped and finding something beautiful within, and hopefully useful for years to come.
I apologize for my lack of web building savvy, but I'm a lifelong DIY guy and insist on doing it myself. I recognize that the content below is clunky and in some cases repetitive repetitive. Hopefully it will improve.
Thanks for visiting!

All items in this section are made from Wine or Bourbon Barrels that have reach the end of their aging of spirits. I take all the parts of the barrel and attempt to make beautiful items that will be useful for many more years. Prices do not include shipping.
This item is intended for use as a serving board. Both sides are finished with a food grade oil. Enjoy the full charm of the white oak wood with the barrel staves shape and coloring. Click the image to see more options for these boards.
This clock is made from the bung stave of the a whiskey barrel. It measures 35" x 4" and clock hand reaches 12" from the center. The clock has a high torque mechanism that is made in the USA. Sections of the barrel ring have been attached to recreate the rustic feel of the clock.
Like pairing smoked brisket with high-proof rye, I've paired some beautiful live edge woods with barrel rings to create a centerpiece that will grace any living space. I look for special pieces that will bring out the awesome qualities of various species of wood. Prices vary but typically fall in the $125 - $200 range. I can provide photos of available inventory on request. I'm excited about some really nice black walnut crotches I salvaged a couple years ago.
Shameless place holder as I'm building my site and keeping the content current on the web. Tree inventory will be updated soon.
Stands about 10" tall

As a firefighter of over 36 years, I understand the desire to remember crews that I worked with over the years. In the Washington DC region we use a "Passport" system pictured below to maintain accountability of crews on an incident. These commemorative plaques are made in the style of the passport but etched permanently onto wood. A picture of the passport is needed to ensure accuracy.
Often used as a gift to a transferring/retiring crew member. It does not have to be the Chief, but this is the price for a single passport. This passport will provide a lasting keepsake to the Firefighter/Chief who is leaving.
This package is for purchasing up to 4 identical passports. Often given to each member of a crew that has worked together for a while.
This package is for purchasing 5 or more identical passports. Often given to each member of a crew that has worked together for a while. I can elongate the passport to accommodate all the names or forgo the Maltese cross graphic. The choice is yours.
